MOVE aside Lewis, there is another Capaldi making a bid for musical superstardom.
I’ve learned that former Doctor Who actor Peter Capaldi spent lockdown working on his debut album and is planning to release it later this year.

Much of his acting work ground to a halt in March 2020 but he has thrown himself back into music – almost four decades after first making a name for himself with his tunes.
Peter, who played the 12th incarnation of The Doctor on the long-running BBC series from 2013 to 2017, was in a post-punk band called The Dreamboys in the early Eighties.
But now he is getting back into it, having also starred in the video for Lewis’s global smash hit Someone You Loved in 2019.
Those musical talents must run in the family – as Peter is the second cousin of Lewis’s dad Mark.
A music insider said: “Peter has been a huge music fan for years and was doing that before his acting career properly took off.
“That stopped him from singing and making music for a while but in recent years he has got back into it and put some music out just for the joy of it.
“But when the lockdown struck, it felt like the perfect opportunity to get his head down and work on a full project of his own.
“He has finished his bits for the album and it is just being mixed at the moment so it shouldn’t be too long before fans get to hear it.
“He is not expecting it to be as big as Lewis’s records but Peter has really enjoyed working on it and reckons that his followers will like it.”
The Scotsman is not short of other work now either, with his films The Suicide Squad and Benediction also expected in the coming months.
He is currently in West End show Constellations opposite Zoe Wanamaker, and is gearing up to reunite with Doctor Who producer Steven Moffat on an Amazon Prime Video series called The Devil’s Hour, in which he will play a “reclusive nomad driven by a murderous obsession”.
That Tardis really is long gone.
Pink lady in Big Apple
THE eye-catching fashion from Lady Gaga’s upcoming film House Of Gucci has clearly rubbed off on her – as there was no missing the singer in this pink dress.
She recently jetted back to the US after shooting the drama in Italy, during which time she was photographed in a series of striking vintage outfits.

But the superstar is going back to the day job in New York, where she was pictured on Tuesday.
Seven years after teaming up with legendary crooner Tony Bennett for their album Cheek To Cheek, the pair will get back together tomorrow for a special concert.
They will perform an MTV Unplugged show in the Big Apple to sing tracks from their second album of standards, which is expected to be released any time now.
The event, thought to be planned for broadcast this summer, promises “fresh renditions” of jazz classics and “a handful of surprises”.
Knowing Gaga, that could mean absolutely anything.
Kim’s on shorts break to Rome
KIM KARDASHIAN is still Rome-ing around Italy’s tourist trail.
Yesterday she visited the Colosseum and unsurprisingly used her time at the ancient monument to stage an impromptu photoshoot.

During the day, Kim managed to make sightseeing look impossibly glamorous, wearing blue silk shorts with a plunging white top and heels.
And luckily for her, there wasn’t another pesky tourist in sight.
It’s amazing what being one of the most famous faces in the world can buy you.
Raye’s album sorrow
SINGER-songwriter Raye has hit out at her record label, claiming she wakes up crying every morning because it won’t let her release an album.
The British musician signed a four-album deal with Polydor in 2014 and she has since scored nine Top 40 hits and been nominated for British Single at the Brit Awards.

But in an emotional outburst on Twitter, Raye said: “For the last seven days I have woken up crying my eyes out, not wanting to get out of bed and feeling so alone.
“Imagine this pain. I have been signed to a major label since 2014 . . . and I have had albums of music sat in folders collecting dust, songs I am now giving away to A-list artists because I am still awaiting confirmation I am good enough to release an album.”
Raye, who has been backed by Charlie XCX, added: “All I care about is the music. I’m sick of being in pain about it, this is not business to me, this is so personal.
“I’m done being a polite pop star. I want to make my album now, please, that is all I want.”
If she is struggling, then there isn’t much hope for anyone else.
Under pressure
SHAWN MENDES, who once modelled in his pants for Calvin Klein, says he struggles to deal with the pressure of doing sexy photoshoots.
He told Wonderland mag: “I was shirtless on a billboard. Any shoot where you’re basically ‘sexy’ in any way can really mess with your psyche because you’re struggling every day to live up to that guy.
“The lighting was there, you have make-up and a hairstylist there.
“People are there to make you look amazing.
“But realistically, you can’t really fit the shoes of that person in that photo – even as that person.”
My heart bleeds for him.
A model mum, Jen
JASON DERULO is rarely seen covering up his abs – and the same can be said for his girlfriend who only gave birth a few weeks ago.
Model Jena Frumes took to Instagram and shared this jaw-dropping selfie showing her toned body.

Alongside it was a caption in which she claimed to have only worked out three times since having their son Jason King in May.
Jena wrote: “Seven weeks postpartum, day three back working out! Taking it slow but I’m already feeling stronger mentally and physically.”
With genes like theirs, that baby must have super-human strength.
Oz blow for Alesha
AFTER just touching down in Australia, Alesha Dixon was preparing to take up a seat as a judge on its version of Britain’s Got Talent.
But her gig Down Under has been postponed after a Covid outbreak put parts of the country into lockdown.

It had been hoped filming could continue but bosses have axed the production and Alesha will be heading home.
A source said: “Alesha was totally gutted after learning Australia’s Got Talent wasn’t going ahead.
“She’ll fly back to the UK and is hoping new filming dates will line up with her busy schedule.”
She was on the panel alongside actor Neil Patrick Harris and both had just completed their mandatory two-week quarantine.
A statement from Channel Seven, which would screen the series, said: “A studio audience is a vitally important part of this much-loved show, so we have made the responsible but tough call to not go ahead for now.”
I previously revealed Alesha got the gig after Amanda Holden turned the job down.
It’s not going to be a totally wasted trip, however, as insiders said it was likely Alesha would be paid for her time.
They added: “Bosses will see her right.”
One-off
I CAN exclusively reveal two of the guests KSI has lined up after he announced a one-off variety show yesterday
Anne-Marie, who collaborated with him on Don’t Play, and Digital Farm Animals, from Really Love with Craig David, will be joining him.
A source said: “KSI is getting some of his famous pals and favourite collaborators on board. Anne-Marie and Digital Farm Animals were so excited.”
The KSI Show, which will also include comedy sketches, is on Saturday July 17, a day after the release of his new album, All Over The Place.
KSI said: “ Ya boy is gonna take you all on an adventure that will be remembered for years to come.
“I’ll be taking you through my journey from being a YouTuber to a boxer to a musician and more. This experience has everything.
“Mainstream meets the internet in a way never done before. So, get ready and enjoy.”
Tickets are available from momenthouse.com/ksi.
I’ll be getting mine.
