LEWIS Capaldi might have persuaded Peter Capaldi to star in his latest music video – but he wasn’t always sure that he would be able to afford him.
The Brits Critics Choice nominee, 22, released the touching video to Someone You Loved earlier this month which stars his distant relative, 60.

When Lewis was asked in November if he would ever get Peter on board for a music video, he told The Sun: “I mean, if he’s keen and he’s going to do it for free. I don’t know if we could afford Peter Capaldi.”
In the vid – which shines a light on organ donation and charity Live Life Give Life – the former Doctor Who actor plays a bereaved husband who finds solace when he visits the family of the woman his wife donated her heart to.
Even though the pair are distantly related, Lewis first met Peter at one of his London shows at Scala and had only met him once before the video was filmed.
Speaking about the time they met, he said: “We were just trying to work out how exactly how we’re related. Like my great gran was his auntie or something.

“It was very confusing f***ing thing but he was very complimentary, it was very nice about the show and he seemed to really enjoy it.
“I’m a big fan of his work as well so we were just mutually complementing each other.”
It looks like the family effort has paid off, as the single is now sitting at Number 3 on the UK Singles Chart.
The rising star – who has won legions of fans over thanks to his music and hilarious social media accounts – has also just announced his debut album Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent which will be out in May, with a world tour to boot later in the year.

Announcing his debut LP yesterday, the funnyman told fans: “I hope people don’t think it’s s***.
“I mean don’t get me wrong there will be one or two stinkers on there, but I’m only human and we all make mistakes, but as a whole I think it’s pretty f****** good.
“I’m excited for it to be released and have people finally be able to hear a full body of work from me for the first time. Should it bomb completely or receive an absolute critical lambasting, don’t worry, it’s just my life’s work up until this point…”
