A BRAND new trailer for the latest series of Doctor Who promises to be the most intense yet as Peter Capaldi prepares to say goodbye to the character.
The action-packed clip of the upcoming series sees the Doctor face off with a whole new team of villains – as well some familiar foes we’ve come to know and love.
Pearl Mackie will be joining the new series as the time-lord’s newest companion Bill – alongside Matt Lucas’ returning character of Nardole.
In a split second clip, it’s been confirmed that Michelle Gomez will also be coming back to cause trouble as the Doctor’s nemesis The Master – now known as Missy after a female regeneration.
The original Mondasian Cybermen will also be making a comeback, as well as the most iconic foe of all time – The Daleks.
This series will mark the end of Peter Capaldi’s run as The Doctor – with a whole host of telly favourites in the running to become the Doctor.
He announced he was leaving the show during an interview with BBC Radio 2, after four years leading the long-standing sci-fi favourite.

Several previous Doctors have come out in support of the idea that the next Doctor is a woman or person of colour – after over 50 years of the role being played by white males.
Speculation immediately begun as to who will replace him as the Time Lord, and on Tuesday, the star revealed his own ideas for who should be the next Doctor.
David Tennant, who played the tenth regeneration of the character, has been vocal in his support of his Broadchurch co-star Olivia Colman taking on the role and said she “would clearly be a magnificent choice.”
However, following Kris Marshall unexpectedly quitting Death in Paradise earlier this week, some have speculated that Peter’s replacement has already been chosen.
Fans were quick to link the two departures and conclude that Kris, 43, would become the next doctor.
Taking to Twitter, one wrote: “Kris Marshall is definitely gonna be the next doctor who”, while another added: “Anyone else think that Kris Marshall would be pretty good as the next Doctor?”
So far, nothing has been confirmed over who will take over the iconic role for the next stint.
- Doctor Who returns April 15 on BBC1.
