THERE are few things that show the Doctor at his angriest – yet that’s exactly what happened when an evil human laid into his friend and companion Bill Potts.
The Doctor ended up throwing a rare punch into the face of one of his enemies after he went on a racist tirade against his pal as they visited London in 1814.

As they went to talk to their (human) foe Mr Sutcliffe after discovering he had been turning orphaned children into fuel with the help of an underwater alien, the timelord warned the quick-tempered Bill to keep quiet and calm in the presence of the potential evil force.
He told her: “Always remember that passion fights, but reason wins,” as she sits down to remain in the background.

However, no sooner had Sutcliffe introduced himself did he realise that The Doctor was being accompanied by a black woman, and he immediately started yelling at her.
The evil tyrant stopped mid-sentence to turn to Bill, and demanded: “Who let this creature in here? On your feet, girl, in the presence of your betters!”

As a bemused Bill tried to maintain her composure, The Doctor wasn’t as calm, and tapped him on the shoulder before delivering a suckerpunch to his face.
He then turned to Bill and said: “He’s human. 31. Low in iron.”

Bill nodded and added: “Yeah – that was pretty convincing racism for an extra-terrestrial.”
Fans were left delighted at his bold and brassy move in defence of his friend – as they continued to fall in love with the new companion.
